Hey guys, I lost some footage a couple of days ago and although I had it backed up on another drive the editing file I was using was not backed up so I ended up loosing a few days of editing time. Anyway, it's promoted me to invest in some kind of raid system.
Ideally i want a raid 5 but the problem I'm finding is that I cant find one that is compatible with Mac OSX 10.5. I do plan on upgrading to a new imac next year and transferring over to premiere but in the meantime I'm still using my old 8 core mac pro with the antiquated FCP6. A raid 1 is fine for what I need and will do the job, just more expensive and less efficiently than Raid 5. This is the raid 1 I have been looking at:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RCZ6N...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0ZG6E22RRRZBXY2M3QE7
I just wanted peoples opinions on this, if I am wasting my money on a raid 1 when a raid 5 is a better investment and also if anyone has used a decent raid 5 with mac OSX 10.5 that they could recommend?
Thanks!
Paul
