Ragstock Commercial.

Just now finished up this spot for a clothes store here called Ragstock. It's all put together with After Effects and Photoshop, but I shot all of the actors and the scenes with the DVX, then treated the video like a still camera in post. Turned out pretty nicely, I think, and they let me be extra weird, which is good too. Anxious to hear your thoughts...

(P.S. Remember the woman in this spot, as she might be the next big thing at SNL. She had a promising audition with Mr. Michaels a week ago. Yow!)

Great Commercial... funny song also... is there anyway you could give a tutorial on how you did the zoom, pan, blur stuff with the still images it is a great effect and Im seeing it more and more I'm just wondering how you do it

Re: Ragstock Commercial.

I don't know if I could offer a tutorial or not, because it's basically just getting to know After Effects. You put layer upon layer, make individual files "parented" to one another, and then you rotate or zoom on that first layer with everything locked to it (so it moves with it). Or, alternately, you can use 3D, where you've got a camera that you can control to pan and zoom and such. As for the blur, that's both a blur effect keyframed into depth of field shots, and the motion blur that you can have included on layers, so when they move, there's a sort of film blur effect.

Other than that, I'd probably just say that it'd be wise to buy a book and dedicate the next month or so of your life to the program.
