Radio Station Microphones

I'm looking at starting up an internet radio station and want to know what some of the best mics vocals would be in a radio station studio environment?

The Neumann BCM104 and BCM705 (this being Neumann's first dynamic mic) are popular and specifically designed for radio stations. However, everyone has their favourites - the BBC local radio in the UK rather liking the much, much cheaper M201 Beyers. Some people like to use large format omnis, where the presenters move around too much for a cardioid - which changes sound too much when they go off mic. As radio stations always tend to compress the presenters mic at some point in the signal chain, most large format mics, even the really cheap Samsons, work well. Probably too much choice really!

The ElectroVoice RE-20 is pretty ubiquitous in US radio. It's a great mic, built like a tank. The updated version is the RE-27. Both are still widely available, both are fine mics.
