R series P2 Cards? R they OK?

Hi

My P2 cards are A series - I understand that there is a new E series - but what is the R Series?

Someone I know wants to sell their card and I noticed it is R series - will this work in my HPX171 just the same as my A series cards?
 
I don't know what the "R" stands for but a 16gb one came with my 200a and it works fine. It's my understanding that the "A" and "R" series cards will last much longer than the "economy" series cards ("E"). Is the the HPX171 a non-North American HPX? The "R" series card should work fine with the 170, but you should double check for the 171.
 
The HPX171E is a Euro model...

Searching around the net I think there might be some speed differences when offloading but as long as it's up to recording HD when used in the camera - I can't see a problem.

Would be cool if someone could clarify though...

Also discovered that Futijsu and Maxcell make P2 cards - so why are they so expensive is several companies make them.??
 
yeah, the R cards apparently transfer slower. but they are also built to last longer... so yeah. they will be fine!
