Can someone explain in layman's terms how to do those multiple quote boxes?

Write slowly please, and use small words. Tech is so not me.

You can hit the quote button. Like I just did for your question.

If you want multiples.... just put [ quote ] before the text, and place [ /quote ] after it. Just leave out the spaces. It should look like
with no spaces. Do that for every line that you want to quote.

Another way.... copy and paste the text you want to quote. Then highlight it. You can do this by left clicking the beginning of the text, while holding the left click down, drag it to the end of the line that you want quoted. The text you selected should now be highlighted.

Once you have the text you want highlighted click the little quote icon. It looks like this...

That will wrap the quote text around your highlighted section and quote it for you.

Well, here's how I do it.....

As usual, I probably make things more complicated than necessary, but hope it helps.

I usually click the quote button in several posts as I go through a thread, opening it in another tab, then I copy and paste each prepared quote into one reply box, trim if necessary, and add my always witty and entertaining commentary.

 I am not actually that cocky.

I usually click the quote button in several posts as I go through a thread,

Really....how interesting!

opening it in another tab,

Do go on....

then I copy and paste each prepared quote into one reply box,

Fascinating!

trim if necessary, and add my always witty and entertaining commentary.

True...so true.

 I am not actually that cocky.

Don't be so modest...you really are...and we love it..wouldn't have it any other way! :)

I did it!!!!!!

This is a small quote for man, but a big quote for mankind!

Thanks guys. Expect to see multiple quote boxes everywhere now.

I'm glad Alex asked...I had no idea how people were doing multiple quotes. I was having trouble doing one quote consistently. Nice easy to follow explanations from everybody.

Another way to do multi-quote, assuming all the text you want to quote is within posts on the same page, is to use the multi-quote button.

If you look at the bottom of each post there are three buttons. One says "Quote", the next has a quotation mark with a plus sign under it, and the last says "Reply". For each post that you want included in your reply as a "quote", click the middle button (the one with the quotation marks on it). It's background color will change to Red indicated it as marked.

Once they have all been selected, then click "Quote" on any post and you will get your reply window, auto-filled with all the quoted text from each selected post. You then simply edit out any text you don't want included and Voila, a quick multi-quote :)
