Quicktime Render in Vegas 6

It seems like Vegas 6 can't Render a quicktime file, when I render it, the footage plays back choppy. Can vegas 6 Render a quicktime file or is something wrong with my computer?

I have someone I have to deliver this project to, and they need it in a Quicktime format. Thanks for any help.

The Original file is not Quicktime. I want to output as a Quicktime file. I should of clarified that.

The original files, are AVI and they are in the timeline, instead of rendering as an AVI I wanted to render a .MOV file.

But what codec did you use? There are many options; .mov is just a wrapper.

It's possible you rendered an uncompressed QuickTime, in which case it would explain the choppy playback.

Ok. Sorry, here's more info. As for the Codec, yes I did render as Uncompress Quicktime. The reason for this is, I'm sending the file to a company and they request the file be an Uncompress .MOV file.

Forget it. You'll need hardware raid and a hot machine to play back uncompressed footage smoothly. There's nothing wrong.

So eventhough it plays choppy on my computer, if I send it to the company it should play fine if their system is on point?

What is Hardware Raid?

The company wants the best quality file possible. They may or may not be able to play it back smoothly. In many cases that doesn't matter too much.

Ok. Thanks, I'm gonna see if I can get them a file with the best quality I can give them, while having it play back smoothly.
