Quicktime playback

Hi everyone! I am difficulties playing some DVCPRO HD clips on quicktime. When I lay them on a FCP sequence everything looks fine, but when I run it with quicktime, it skips frames and audio sounds funny... anyone experienced this?

UPDATE: the problem seems to be Quicktime 7.5.5, playback is jerky no matter the clip format (DVCPRO, H.264...) I downloaded VLC to try out couple of clips and they played just fine, however VLC doesn't support DVCPRO...

Anyone experienced this before? I have updated quicktime and FCP to latest version and still getting this problem

Now I'm getting some R/T problems and FCP is dropping frames too... Do I need a raid0 setup? I'm currently using a 1tb WD caviar black as my editing drive

Hi david, using Efix-enabled Mac OS 10.5.6 on a Quad core 2.7 ghz, 8gb ddr2800 ram, Two drives: 640gb WD Caviar blue for boot and software, 1tb WD Caviar black for footage and editing.

FCS 6.05 academic version, QT v 7.5.5, Footage transferred using FCP Log and transfer function

Im also using Intensity Pro to output to and HD lcd. I also ran couple of performance tests on the Hard drives and I'm getting 96-97 MB/s read/write.

Ok, after a lot of testing the problem seems to be Quicktime itself, when I play any clip (Dvcpro or not) it skips frames every 4-5 seconds, any way to solve this?
