Quicktime 16:9

I'm pulling my hair out trying to get this done. Please help me.

I uprezzed some footage I shot with guides, how the hell do I export to quicktime with no guides (just cropped footage). When I set it up out of Premiere Pro with the H264 Encoder, the preview looks fine, but then my footage is all wacky-like. What setting should I be using?

when i set the comp size to 720 x 480 (which I know is wrong for widescreen), the preview looks right, with no bars. so i figure it's some wierd fluke and render, but I either get bars or out of aspect

I shot letterbox and used photozoom to uprez the 720x480 footage to 720x640. Then I import the file into Premiere Pro, "Interpret as 16:9 (1.2)" and it looks fine, but it exports with bars on the top and bottom (pretty much just an uprezzed version of the original letterbox footage).

Essentially what I'm asking is how do I get Quicktime to crop off those bars during export.

okay is this for widescreen TVs or are you trying to make a file for download or comp playback?

because what i do for TVs...is use the transform in premiere and resize the height to 122% or 129% and that enlarges the image getting rid of the black bars. i export it as is 720x480 and when viewed on a widescreen TV...it's a full screen, widescreen image without black bars.

for comp playback...i'd use motion (in pro it has the "image pan" features of the earlier versions) and zoom into/frame the letterbox. that'll be like cropping, but if you export it at say 720x404 or 720x406 then you'll have a file at a widescreen setting.

how you're doing it...i don't know...but there might be a setting in ppro that says to make "letterbox"...that i don't know i have premiere 6.5. i have quicktime pro and there's such no feature. if you've seen some of my clips i've posted i used quicktime to make them.
