ANybody ever use this? Haven't seen anything on the site about it. Have admit, sounds too good to be true. Saw that someone used it with a DVX, though.

I don't think it's possible I've stumbled onto something that NO-ONE knows about.

Any thoughts/experiences would be VERY helpful! Thanks as always.

It'll work as long as you restrict yourself of DV -- there is no support for DVCPro, DVCPro50, or DVCProHD.

I actually read up on the new (2nd Generation) and it says that it does support DVCPRO.

Do you think that means it may not be able to handle HD?

Thanks for the reply. Anxiously await more....

The old Quickstream was notoriously unreliable, and it's a rebadged Citidisk. If there's a new Quickstream, it's likely also a rebadged Citidisk.

A reply from The Man, himself. Thanks for the comment. I guess I'd be an idiot to not take the advice. Damn! (Can I say that? If not, sorry, and "Darn!")

Thanks so much again for weighing in.

I must be the only guy in America who has nothing but good to say about the Quickstream DV. I bought one for my DVX almost four years ago and it has performed flawlessly -- I shot so much stuff with that sucker. Infact, I've been loving the joys of tapeless workflow for the last four years with the QSDV, so the P2 was no real jump for me.

But I have heard that a lot of people have problems with QuickStream. Lucky me. I still use it as a portable hard drive to dump P2 footage. It's nice 'cause it'll run off just the Firewire --- no power required.

Having said that, the QSDV records DVCPro -- yes, but none of the HD variants or even DVCPro50. It's strictly for 25mbps streams (DV25). Sorry.
