Quick release options

Hi I'm looking to be able to have 1 quick release plate that I can switch back and forth between tripod and should brace. Currently I use a manfrotto 503HDV head and the manfrotto quick release plate that comes with the 503.

Is there a way to buy the mounting plate alone to put on my shoulder brace that accepts the manfrotto quick release plate?

The 503HVD seems to be standard among indie filmmakers, how do most people setup a fast, convenient quick release system?
 
You can get any of these two, Manfrotto 357 or Manfrotto 577, it's the same adapter but the plate is different in length. It's one of the most popular quick release systems.

I personally use the 357 because i love the longer plate which allows for a bit more front/back adjustment of the position of the camera, but both should work.
 
Just make sure the adapter is the same width as your tripod head. I'm guessing the ones eiker_jr mentions are the match for you tripod, but just thought you should know there are ones that don't fit. I have an adapter plate that has a plate that is too wide for my 503 head.
 
I have a Manfrotto - 577 Rapid Connect Adapter and I'd like to use on the Glidecam HD4000. But the problem is I can't tighten it while the adapter is attached to the glidecam plate because the knob is too close to the plate. What can I use to raise the adapter so that I can use the knob? I want to have the adapter centered on the glidecam, not on the side. Thanks.

You do know that knob is ratcheted, right? You can pull it toward you and turn it a few degrees at a time so it will work in tight quarters between the camera and mount.
