Quick Question About Video Tracks

How do I get video from the source monitor to immediatley go to either V2 or 3. It always snaps to V1 and A1,2. I know how to de-select them so no audio goes with the video, but what setting do I need to change so I can layer video right to the higher V tracks?

Grab the V1 icon of the source clip (the farthest left V1) and drag it to the Video track on the timeline that you want. As you drag a little arrow will appear. Once you release the mouse button on top of the Video track you want, then the V1 and V2 icons will line up so that you can see what you just changed.

If you want to go back to V1, just click and drag again.

To deselect the audio just click the A1, A2 track icons for the source clip so that they're not highlighted. Then only video will be cut into the timeline.

Look up "Patching Tracks" in the manual for a visual explination of what I just described.

I rememeber the Arrow as I tried to just drag it upwards, but I didn't put it over the track...I'll try it out, thanks again.
