Quick Paypal Question?

I'm about to purchase some gear for my camera online with the money i have in my paypal acccount. The only problem is I need to add a credit card to my account to be able to purchase. Will the purchase show on the credit card monthly statement?

It depends upon where you tell PayPal to take the money from. If you set it up so that the $$$ is extracted from a bank account, then your purchases will not show on the card. If you tell PayPal to bill the card, then of course the amount will show on the card. If you have $$$ held by PayPal in an account of theirs, the card would be billed if you tell them to, or if the amount billed exceeds the amount held in the account.

But read PayPal's on-site policy, if you really want to know how it will work.

Thanks Max for the quick reply.
So just to verify things, since I have money in my account I can choose not to bill my credit card and just pay with the money already in my acc.
correct?
and if i do that, the transaction won't show up on the bill later?

If you have specified the bank account as the source from which PayPal is to take the $$$, and if there's enough there to cover it, then nothing ought to show on your credit card.

But since I'm not privy to the settings in your account I'd really advise you to get the skinny from PayPal in order to be absolutely sure.

When I use PayPal for purchases, it always asks me to specify a funding source. Should work the same for you. If there's a PayPal balance, that shows up in the source options. Select that.

If you can find a place to purchase from that accepts paypal as payment, you don't need a credit card.

he needs a CC for paypal account to work... as in the form of verification from Paypal, I assume :) if needed, Paypal will take the fund from the CC if there's no balance in the PP account

I recently made a purchase using paypal and I don't have a credit card.
It depends on where your buying from. Paypal itself does not require it. It's optional.

As long as you have a bank account you should have a debit card which Paypal will accept, really no credit card necessary.

Please don't ever use a debit card for online transactions. They do not offer the same identity theft protections as a pure credit card, and you can have your actual bank account drained, even if you discover the fraud. And you may never get your cash back.
