Lighting one subject, mostly close-ups of her using a product. Choices:

Arri 1k Open Face kit - (4) open-face 1k heads with stands

Arri 650/300 kit - (2) 650 Watt Fresnel, (2) 300 Watt Fresnel with stands

Arri Softbank kit - (1) 1k open-face w/speed ring & Chimera, (2) 650 Watt Fresnel, (1) 300 Watt Fresnel with stands

Lowel Omni / Tota kit - (2) Omni, (2) Tota with stands

I should be able to get silks and stuff too. Right now I'm thinking the Softbank kit for most flexibility.

I'll be using regular household sockets to plug into as well. I'm pretty certain the 650 will be okay but I've never tried a 1k Arri into a plug... Should I worry about that?

just did a search and I guess 2000 total is my limit on a household circuit... so, softbank kit it is!

The Softbank kit is your best bet, anyway... more flexible. The second choice would be the 650/300 kit.

Don't worry about the 1k in a household plug... just do the math on any single circuit in the house and make sure that you don't draw too much. You may need to find wall outlets on separate circuits and run some AC stingers from another room.

Well technically it's an office that we're shooting in but I figure that's better as it more sure to be modern. Yea I figure to be safe I'll go up to 1500, then run a stinger to another room.

Here's what I got:

-Softbank kit with 1k, 2 650, 1 300
-2 dimmers
-2 42inch silks
-1 bounce board
-2 c-stands and a gobo head
-2 sand bags

I figure I'll be good to go! Shooting with a GH-1 too, feeling pretty confident.

thats a good kit but youll probably find that you wont use that 1k open face to often because it just puts out to much light to be able to use the rest of the lights in your kit.

and any modernish building of any kind can easly take a 1k, most likely be able to take a 1.5k, and they might be able to take a 2k but that is useally pushing it.

and you can't go any higgher then a 1.2k HMI light it just blows the breaker every time
