I often shoot outdoors using a Manfrotto 190CX3 with a 701HDV. It's light and steady and smooth enough for my purposes. However, leveling on uneven terrain takes too much time without a bowl. Every time I set up a shot, more time is spent leveling the tripod than everything else combined.
Is there a product (such as a generic bowl that can adapt to the space for the center post) which will aid in quicker leveling? I tried using a ball head between the tripod and the head but it makes the head slightly jittery.
Any other solution other than buying a new tripod? Anyone have a method for learning to level quickly?
I guess the simplest but wasteful solution is to straighten and crop in post.
