Quick Grabs

I'm DPing a short next week, so me and my girlfriend took out the DVX to check out some locations we'll be shooting at. Let me know what you guys think. It was too late in the day when we got there so the grabs are kinda dark. Did some color correctiong in Avid. The cemetary is Bonaventure Cemetary from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil if anyone has seen it.

Yeah man, I dont think they're dark at all. The highlights help so much.

Great job though... you have any video?

I've got some video, but I wasn't shooting to put something together. I was just shooting for the purpose of showing the director the lighting conditions. I'll post some video when we start shooting the short next weekend.

Honestly Combat. These look great on my monitor (and I am pretty confident I am calibrated). Hook us up with some moody ass gothic visuals!

Haha. I was wearing a beanie. It was cold out. I used Avid Xpress Pro HD to cc them. Here's is one more that I like. I added a little more blur in post.

Thanks man. THat's some good info. John, what did you use to calibrate your monitor?

Just some websites using google looking up 'monitor calibration'.

Its really easy. Do a search and you will see tons of links; you dont need software but I suppose it can only help?

sorry to be the only bad comment so far, but i think the gradation is too obvious. There's a huge orange band at the top and it really stands out to be. Maybe try it more subtle, or softer? or ignore me. that's also an option.
