quick battery question

Im sorry if this has been posted or if it's in the manual (I've looked a little bit) but can I use any battery on the dvx100a? The battery I have now is a battery from the sony vx2000. Will this ruin the dvx or the panasonic charger that came with the dvx?

Once again, Im sorry if this has been posted, but I can't seem to find it on this site.

Any advice will do, or a slap on the face for a stupid question will do just fine.

The battery terminals/connections are proprietary for each camera manufacture so they will not interchange with each other.

What about a panasonic battery from a smaller panasonic camera - like the PV-GS200?

Thanks for the replies guys, but will attempting to try other batteries ruin the camera?
