Questions to RED OWNER

Dear Red Owners, I have been planning to invest on a RED myself sometimes this year. I have been looking at the RED websites for cameras, lens, accessories etc.!

Buying a Red camera, or any camera is one thing, but in my opinion the days of investing in a camera are long gone. Camera technology/price level is changing at such a rapid pace that cameras tend to have a shorter working span than they did 10 years ago, almost to the point that cameras have shifted from investment to expendable. I am still trying to get 3 years work out of my cameras, but I know people who are replacing their cameras every year now. The point being, that you have a shorter amount of time for the camera to pay itself off.

Glass on the other hand, in my opinion can still be an investment if you purchase wisely.

For example... Purchasing a set of PL mount cine lenses would be a wise investment, as long as you happen to use PL mount cameras. If you don't own or use PL mount cameras, they would be a rather poor investment.
