Questions re Manual Focus

Just playing around with the GH1. I have a few q's in regards to the manual focus setting.

Is there a way to disable the enlarged zoom area when you are using the manual focus? Its handy at times, but sometimes I want to focus quickly and it gets annoying especially if the subject is not centered.

Is there a way to change the sensitivity of the focus ring? Just seems to take a lot of turns to change focus and I rather it be quicker especially for shooting videos.
 
Yes you can turn off the focus assist in the menus.

No, I don't think there's a way to change the focus ring sensitivity...
 
Thanks Barry. I'll look into the menus further.

Shame about the focus ring> I find it such low sensitivity its very hard to use when doing video. How do others shift focus quickly from an object in the foreground to one in the background (and vice versa?).
