Hi, I'm very new to the site and I have a few questions about the HMC150 and what settings I should use when shooting a race car series in two weeks time.
Obviously there will be a considerable amount of action shots and I was wondering what the best settings would be for the camera when I will be framing shots perpendicular to the cars, aka when they will be quickly in and out of frame. I was in Mexico about a month and a half ago shooting their first two races (no I didn't get swine flu) and I noticed the 1080/30p setting wasn't great for these perpendicular shots where the cars fly by. Should I be shooting 60 frames at all times? Or only when I really need better clarity for certain action shots? If I should be shooting 60 frames, should it be in 720 or 1080? I ask this because I'm also not entirely familiar with the workflow yet in FCP with an HMC150. I didn't have any trouble with logging and transferring the footage into FCP however it doesn't look good once rendered in the timeline and I still don't know what export settings will lend the best outcome quality.
Any help is greatly appreciated and if you guys needs to see some sample footage to see what I'm talking about as far as the action shots please let me know and I will pop a few into vimeo.
PS- My dad and I have been sharing his HMC150 for stuff over the past couple of weeks, and we are still both in the learning process so any help at all is greatly appreciated and this site has been incredibly informative ever since I signed up.
Thanks in advance for everyones time and help.
