HPX250: Questions for HPX250 owners

I'm about to start shooting a documentary. I'll be mostly hand held and am looking seriously at the HPX250 as well as the EX1 and FX305. For those of you who have experience with the HPX250 here are some questions:

1) How does the HPX250 LCD compare to EX1 and FX305?

2) Can peaking be activated on the LCD and in the view viewfinder? (Also, peaking is only in white, correct?)

3) I have read that the 'push auto' button can be a bit slow and hunts a lot. From those with experience, how usable is it?

4) Overall, how comfortable are you getting critical focus with the HPX250 in fast paced hand-held situations?

5) I have read in a posts here that there was some aliasing in 720p. Is the aliasing pretty minor? And is aliasing at 720p also an issue on similar cameras like EX1 and FX305?

6) If you had $7000-8000 to spend on a camera, batteries and recording media and were going to be shooting an observational documentary, which camera would you by?

Thanks for your thoughts and advice!
Matt

1) Very well to the EX1(don't know about Canon), it has good resolution, and can be oriented parallel to the camera body, unlike EX1.

2) I believe there is EVF detail, but no detail in red, which, in reality is a pain with 1/3" cameras, because everything is in focus to begin with.

3) Don't know, don't use auto focus.

4) If you can't get focus with a 1/3" camera, probably should not be a camera person.

5) Haven't seen it yet.

6) Codec and lens are superior, EX1 has a sensitivity advantage unless PAP level 1 is used on the 250. Not having a waveform in EX1 is a pain. EX1 offers more menu control.

Thanks, Jeff. Very helpful. The 250 is looking better all the time. Looking forward to getting my hands on one at the Government Video Expo here in DC next week.
