Questions for a camera accessory storage box

I have some questions for everyone to answer, I am doing some secondary research on camera accessory storage for some coursework at college, and would like to make a page on answers i have gained from the public through this forum.

1) What type of accessories would you most want to store in a camera accessory storage?

2) Would you prefer storage for a consumer photographer/ cinematographer (compact digital cameras) or professional photographer/ cinematographer (DSLR cameras)

3) What do you think about my idea of designing a classic style storage box? for example I had the idea of giving a film strip design (for a photographers box) or clapper board design (black and white stripes for a cinematography storage box)

4) If I was to produce a storage box with a film strip design, I would create a box which is wavy on the sides, to add to the affect of film strip, what do you think of this idea?

5) What price would you expect to pay for a quality handmade hardwood storage box with plastic acrylic to create detail?

6) Would you want to store all accessories, or just a selection of important ones?

7) What do you think of my idea of creating a portable insert in the box which can hold SD cards?

Honestly, I wouldn't want to buy something that looks like a film strip or a clapper board. I want something that is rugged, padded, protected, and easy to stack. Like a Pelican case (of which I have many). These cases are going to get tossed around, so any superficial embellishment is going to be destroyed in a very short time.

Further, there are different kits of camera accessories that get stored in different cases. One case holds a field monitor and all the accessories. Another case holds the shoulder rig with follow focus and matte box. There's another case for a set of prime lenses. And lights kits have their own cases, and the audio package is in another.

Thanks for the great reply, I can use this information and it is very helpful. Basically as a conclusion from asking this questionaire, I have found out the consumer photography (my family and friends) like the idea, and the professional (you) doesnt, so I can take something quite useful away

And something else, this is a product that wouldnt be portable, it would sit on a shelf, and would porbably have some portable SD card cases inside it. Also I would market it as a novelty item (I am not actually selling it, I have to produce a full working prototype model for my design and tech course)

You have been a great help for my college project, I will be creating a page on my chat to a 'professional photographer', which is you and I will discuss what you liked and didnt like about my ideas. Also your idea about making the storage for certain categories of accessories.
I have come up with categories such as macro, portrait, landscape, sport and consumer photography and cinematography, and have identified key accessories needed.
I have decided I will be creating a 'consumer photographer' storage box for DSLR cameras, with standard accessories such as battery, charger, SD card holder, flash, etc..

Is there any other accessories you would think a consumer photographer would need?

Are there not already a plethora of storage devices available for cameras and accessories?

How about make a very affordable front box?

Thats a great idea, and I will take it into consideration in my design stage with my project, however it has to be a product that I can sell at the department store, John Lewis, so it has to be something that customers would use (probably not customers that all do film productions), so that why I like the idea of a consumer storage box to go with their existing consumer camera ranges
