Questions about switching between 2.0x Telephoto & stock lens during sport shoot

Hi guys, I am trying to get prepared and figure out what I will be doing for shooting football this fall as it is one of my main sources of income. My last camera had a 20x optical zoom with a focal range of up to 820mm (35mm equiv). The HVX-200 has about half that at 423mm.

So, to shoot football, I am going to need a telephoto adaptor. I've been looking at this one:

http://www.schneideroptics.com/Ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=1074&IID=5905

2.0x will get me the same range I had before, however, I also shoot a lot of crowd, sideline, and other shots where I simply will not want the telephoto adaptor on there.

My question is, how can I go about quickly switching this, so I can grab one minute of sidelines and then get back to shooting field action? And, just as importantly, how can I safely do this?

Can I mount the telephoto over the top of a UV filter? I got the B+W 010 UV Filter for $105 from B&H, but it doesn't look like it has front threading to attatch something on it. I'm also not sure how this telephoto attatches exactly.

(The UV filter I have is: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=112&A=details&Q=&sku=11995&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation - it doesn't say anything about a threading in front... would I need to get one with threading? Can I even attatch a telephoto over this? Or does it not matter since the telephoto is a bayonet mount?)

My concern is, with water and spit and sweat and random stuff flying everywhere, and just accidents that can happen with a lot of football players on a sideline, etc.... I don't want to remove the telephoto and expose the bare lens.

So... can i go lens>UV filter>telephoto>uv filter? Or something like this?

What are my options and what will be a good solution?

This a bayonet type mount so you can NOT have a UV filter on the stock lens. This lens should also have rail support as it is long and heavy, although it will mount without rails (not recommended). It is quick to mount/dismount. You could probably unscrew the UV filter and mount the lens in about a minute. Same taking it off.

well that sucks, I don't want to have the UV filter off for 1 second let alone 1 minute. Plus in a game, I only have a total of a 1 minute break which would need to include unmounting the lens, shooting, remounting the lens.

Anyway to make this work? Anyway around going with no lens protection? Plus, carrying around a UV filter exposed like that to quickly swap on & off doesn't sound ideal. Especially out in the rain...

2 cameras! Or get your crowd shots before the game.
