Questions about impedance

Hi all,

I see that the DVX's headphones out is rated for 100 Ohms. I'm looking for a set of headphones to replace my old Sennheiser HD200, which were 64 Ohms, and I'm leaning towards the Sony 7506, which are rated at 24 Ohms.

Does this smaller impedance mean I'll get less volume from the DVX in the Sony phones ?

Secondly, I might also plug those new headphones into an Altec Lansing MX 5021 sound system that's connected to my PC, but I can't find the impedance value for the phones output anywhere. The only info I have concerns the speakers, which are rated between 4 (subwoofer) and 6 Ohms (satellites).

When I used the Sennheiser HD200 on that system, I had to pump the volume way up to hear anything. Will things get better on that front if I buy the 7506, because the impedance values are closer ?

Sorry if those are newbie questions, and thanks in advance for your help !

Impedance in one way of measuring how loud something MAY turn out, but sensitivity of the headphone is a better judge. The MDR 7506 is very sensitive, efficient (loud) relative to other headphones, but I don't know the sensitivity figures for these two headphones.
