I'm going to be shooting a short film that takes place in the desert at night (around a campfire at the beginning of it) and I'm wondering if anyone has any insights to doing this. The thought of bringing a crew out to a So Cal desert and having to set up lights sounds expensive/painful, so I've been considering doing a day for night shoot or even a small studio shoot for it (basically with greenscreen around everywhere but the ground so I can fill in the desert terrain as crazy and alien as I want).
Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? They'd be greatly appreciated!
