Question regarding Squeeze mode vs. true 16:9

I've recently been shooting all of my footage in the squeeze mode of the Panasonic DVX100B to give it a 16:9 look. However, I been hearing alot that getting an anamorphic lens and actually shooting in 16:9 is definitely recommended. Now although I do have access to anamorphic 16:9 lens, I already shot about a half hour worth of usable footage (which was created in a few months) all shot in squeeze mode. So my question to you all is, would it be worth starting all over using a anamorphic lens? How much of a visual different can you tell between the two? And, how much does it really matter? I mean, I heard in squeeze mode the picture gets distorted (because of the stretch) but i didn't really notice anything wrong with it, though I could be wrong.

Please help me, this has been bugging me for a month. I lost sleep over it :(

Ah! I think you have two options to choose from:

1. You should continue with Squeeze mode and shoot out the whole project in it. Squeeze mode is damn good without any noticeable upraising (acceptable even with a projected big screen) unless you see it in some kind of microscope

2. If you are craving for the Anamorphic Adapter Lens. I would say run some camera test with it and compare it with your Squeeze footage. Of course you need to find and shoot under similar kind of lighting conditions and WB like you did with Squeeze to give it a thorough look. (Do let us know with some samples and your thoughts :Drogar-Dum(DBG):)

Come on buddy! You have already done your months work and now you are actually frustrated to do it all over. My advice here is to keep that work and try solution-2 first.

Although my personal opinion is that you're going to see minor difference when you get a light reflected directly from the lens stock/anamorphic :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

Thanks alot guys. I think Im going to stick with squeeze, but if I get the chance, will do the tests with the anamorphic lens anyways just to see the difference :)

I wonder if someone on the internet already has a compare shot between the two. Would love to see it!
