Question on P2 and dubbing

All footage shot to P2 card is .mxf format, is this correct?

Dubbing a P2 card to MiniDV tape: is this a simple process done in camera (I will be shooting SD and would like to avoid hasseling with mxf files as I use Premiere Pro 2.0)

Specifically, dubbing 60fps (overcranked) footage (720p60) to MiniDV tape – how does this work? Would it translate to 2 seconds of 30p footage on the MiniDV tape, or 1 second of footage but with 60fps? Can I specifiy how to dub this to the tape (ie 24p or 30p)?

Yes, all material on P2 cards is in MXF wrappers, regardless of the recording format/codec used.

You can dub both 720 and 1080 video to DV, but not 480. Don't ask me why, it's not possible.

Whether you get one second or two of video from 60 frames depends on your recording options. If you over or undercrank, the VFR recording is carried over to tape. Everything else gives you one second of tape for one second of P2 video.

PS: Black text on a gray background sucks.
