Question on CC in Resovle

Started playing with Resolve lite and Slog recently. Question is what controls are used to bring back "up" a slog image, say the face near 35 back up to around 67, mainly just exposure, without creating noise. And is adjusting gain and gamma the noise culprits. Just like a one light or something. Have a shoot tomorrow and wondering whether to go full SLog or SLog in the PP with a bit of correcting and highlight handling.

Thanks.

There's also Luminance lift, gamma and gain which affect, well luminance only :) So using these controls your saturation levels don't get affected if you don't want to. One cool trick to monitor where your skin values are is to create a window above the skin so you can monitor only that part of the image from your waveform parade. I normally start with lift, gamma and gain for the proper contrast balance but the curves are just as good.

Thanks guys. Spot went awesome ended up using the SLog in PP and dialing in everything for each area. Kept is loose but controlled highlight with dialing in SLog as needed. Just popped some shots in Resolve and wow! Just a dash of CC and bam! Beautiful stuff. All outdoors in a 5 acre Japanese Garden. (small note, shoot was originally going to be with Epic. Talked them into F-3 and they were sold on first shot.) would love to post pics but...client, company thing..
