According to Matrox they do not support the EX codec at this point in time and they have also not upgraded the current MXO software for the proc amp to work with the latest version of QT/FCP.
Ned, I think you're an MXO user with the EX1 so my question to you (or anyone with an MXO and EX1) is what display setting are you using in FCP to view your footage and if you are still on the older QT/FCP SW is the proc amp working properly? The only setting working for me is cinema display main and I can't see a lick of difference between the playback with or without the MXO in the display chain using that setting. When I used the MXO with DVCPro and HDV footage it was pretty obvious (which leads me to believe the MXO is not doing anything at this point on that setting.)
If you or anyone else is successfully grading their EX footage using the MXO I'll wait for Matrox to fix the proc amp problem, if not I think I'll get rid of it.
