Question for Cinebags Backpack (CB22) owners

Just picked one of these up, and while I like the feel and layout of it, Im having trouble fitting my HVX into the main compartment. I have the external mic attachment on the cam and it ends up sticking out just enough so that I cant close the compartment. (prepping for a run n gun doc so dont really want to remove the attachment each time I pack up).

So my question for the owners of the same backpack is have you found a way to arrange the pack so that it fits properly? Would love to see some ideas (pics maybe?) on how you configured your backpack also.

Thanks!

I just got one of these for my HVX, and it's a pretty tight fit just by itself. One thing you could try is mounting the mic attachment lower. The mic attachment is in two pieces--the mic holder itself, and then the small plastic "riser" piece. If you mount the "riser" so that it angles downward instead of upward, and then mount the mic holder normally, that should put the entire attachment below the height of the handle. If it does, you should be able to close up the pack.

I don't have a picture of this, but you can probably picture it from this description. Haven't tried it, so I hope it works!

I have owened and used this pack for about 4 months now, and am not really happy with it. The HVX200 by itself seems to be a tight fit, and I'm worried about the long-term effects of such a tight fit on the eyepiece and lens assembly, which are the two places that endure the most stress in this tight-fit situation.

I pack my camera usually so that the top of the camera (handle and hot shoe) is against my back. Does anyone else do anything differently?

I have the bag and am pleased with the layout though it is a tight fit and I too am concerned about what kind of effect this could have on the camera in the long run, though it is so much easier having the camera on my back. I manage to get it to close with the mic attachment on it I just make sure the camera is oriented so that the the mic shoe is in the cent of the backpack, not by the zipper, which will prevent it from closing, I usually keep my camera with the eyepiece on the bottom of the bag
