Question, Focus Assist: Does Focus-in-Red Work With Manual 3rd Party Lenses?

It shows a sample of the focus-in-red display. Will this work with manual lenses (such as Nikons through a non-communicating adapter) or only with the Micro 4/3 communicating lenses by Panasonic and Olympus?

Yes, it does not have anything to do with lens, it's the monitor that shows all of that

Does it work only when there's sharp contrast like shown in Panasonic's pic on the link above? Will it hold up and work with a scene with lots of activity and shallow depth of field?

It's hard to have that in motion, it works, but not so good when image is moving

The red outline works on high-contrast sharp edges. If you're shooting a perfectly white sphere, it's not going to show up at all. If you're shooting a face, it'll show up on their glasses, in their eyebrows, on their eyelashes, and in the catchlights in their eyes.
