Hi,

I have to make a demo for work from 1080 25p footage i'm shooting. Now i just read that no cam under $100,000 records true 1920 x 1080 so... My question is when you edit your 1080 in Vegas or any other editor what would be the point of having yout project settings at 1920 x 1090 if the native footage is 1440 x 1080? and likewise for output. Is rendering out at 1440 x 1080 the way to go???

The demo will be viewed on true 1920 x 1080p LCD tv's via a pc.

Thanks,

Viewing the camera's native resolution of 1440x1080 without aspect ratio correction will compress the image horizontally. I would find working with footage in the timeline with the incorrect aspect ration quite annoying, that's personal preference though.

Can anybody clarify whether LCD TV's could even interpret a 1440x1080 stream and automatically uprez/aspect ratio correct it to 1920x1080. I would have thought that the reason for working and exporting a 1920x1080 HD frame is to ensure compatibility with the standard.
