Question about VCR mode on the DVX

In vcr mode, you can record off an external source, a vcr, even another camera.

Heres my question, do scene files have any effect on the VCR mode? IE: if i plug a sony DXC-950 head unit into my DVX via svideo, can I record what is coming out in 24p ?
 
24p, 25p, 30p, 50i or 60i are the actual "speeds" of the CCD block itself. What ends up on tape is the same all the time (obviously different in PAL vs NTSC). That's why you have the pull-down thing for 24p, because on tape you still have 30 fps. Tape decks are dumb pieces of hardware, and the DVX's one makes no exception. The secret treasure of this camera resides inside the front end.
