Hello!
I saw in another forum someone mentioned that the AF100 and AC160 had the ability to shoot 1080p60 BEFORE the recent firmware update only with NO sound. But now, after the update they can shoot WITH sound. Is this true? I know they can shoot 1080p60 now at 28mbps but what was the case for these cameras before the firmware update. Also wasn't the firmware update which enabled this feature free?

Thanks!

Yes they both have and always have had the ability to shoot slow-mo at 1080/60p. The new firmware update adds the 1080 PS recording mode, which is 1080/60p with sound, intended for playback at 60fps.

The slow-motion 60p resulted in a bitrate of approximately 36 megabits per second, with no sound, and playback only in slow-mo.

The new mode is 28mbps, plays back as "live" footage, and includes sound.

An updated camera can do both.

The firmware update is free on the AC160, but on the AF100 it requires purchasing the SFU100 firmware update package.
