I'm going to be selling both of my DVX100As that I bought in May. Need the money.
Would I do better selling them together or apart?
I have 2 extra batteries for both of them for a total of 3 each.
What would you say and how much should I ask?
Thanks
You'll definitely do better selling them separately. I used to do quite well on ebay buying movie camera packages, splitting them up, keeping what I needed and selling off the rest. Stuff sold piecemeal for much more than the package together would cost. You might find a thousand customers who want a DVX, but how many would be able to afford two? Much smaller market, I'm sure.
1) Is there still warranty?
2) Where did you buy it from, do you still have the original receipts?
3) This is the most important question of all: WILL YOU TAKE 5K FOR IT?
I bought them from EVS online;
No warranty (they didnt carry one for the camera plus I have equipment insurance and since I bought them with my AMEX card, they extend the manufac. warr. and extra year. And yes I still have the receipts. I got them from Tommy Mack at EVS.
And, No. I spen over 7K for these two cameras plus batteries.
Theres no way I would sell them for 2500 each (or 5K for both)
They are in excellent condition, barely used.
Im still back and forth on selling them.
An my wife is giving me grief for spending 7k and now maybe selling them for 6k
Mark, i don't mean to sound like i'm being a smart ass about this but you are saying that you want 3k for a camera with 10 hours on it and no warranty. EVS sells it brand new with warranty and Magic Bullet for 3479.00 not counting the DVXuser's discount. I think at 5k for both is an excellent offer but I understand where you are coming from. Maybe the best thing to do is to put it on Ebay but i highly doubt that anyone will pay more than 3k for it. I mean the extra $400 is well worth spending to buy it new cause there's a warranty and Magic Bullet. Good luck with selling the cameras.
There is the manufactures warranty but not any extended warranty
Actually, I dont think I even sent the cards in yet
Oh ya, Im missing one lens cap.
bye the way, 5k is not a good deal. 2500 bucks a cam, give me a break. thats the price of a new VX2100. and this cam is so much more than that.
And also, yes, evs is selling them for 3400+, thats still not 3000 and so what if it comes with MAgic Bullet. I have MBfor Editors and have you seen the render time with vegas? Doubt many will use except for maybe a 30sec commercial or maybe a music video.
And even if you wanted it, you can upgrade from the MB you get from vegas to editors for under 200 bucks. your still saving 200 dollars plus the 400 for the other cam which leaves you with 600 bucks, could almost buy a anamorphic adapter with that.
but hey, to each their own.
