How much should I charge someone who wants to rent my 100b fri night to sunday night. ill make sure he signs a contract.

Depends if that "someone" is a friend or a complete stranger. Rental houses out my way charge $190.00 per day for the DVXB and a Friday to Monday morning rental is considered a one day rental. Renter is responsible for any and all damage, loss & theft to unit & inspection prior to leaving the facility is commenced by renter and facility rep. Insurance is required and most rental houses require credit card info & deposit.

Here is another question. How should I approach the contract situation? I def want to have one. Is there any examples I could see or use?

There are many standard format contract templates online you could draw from. Basically you will want to have the contract reflect things such as;

renters financial responsibility for any non-manufacturers defects that happen while the camera is in thier care, ie: cracked, broken, scratched, dropped, etc.

You are not responsible for footage lost or not recorded while the renter has the camera (if there is a defect that causes the camera to malfunction & not record the wedding that the renter has hired your camera to record).

Indicate in the contract that they will be charged or a charge will incur on their credit card as a result of any damage that has occurred to the camera while in thier care.(forfeit deposit as a result of damage done by renter...etc..)

The list can go on but the overall purpose of a contract is to protect both parties involved in signing it. Renting out electronic equipment can be risky & carry liability to both parties. Be sure to try and cover as much liability & who will be liable for it as if you were heading to court over it because thats where you end up when deniability becomes an issue.
