question about Qx2 raid data rate

so i just got and installed a new Qx2, with 4 1TB 7200 drives. the standard package from OWC. im currently transfering a bunch of old folders from a portable lacie rugged (5400). Both are connected to my mac pro tower via firewire 800. my transfer is going at approx. 33mb /sec. this seems low to me, but i thought it may be because its has an extra another firewire interface to go through.

what say you? sound normal?
 
in addition though, one f800 port is on the front of the tower, the other on the back. not sure if thats still the same bus or not.
