Question about monitors...

So i've been using my SGPRO for about 2 weeks now with out any monitor (i'm currently using the lcd flip gimmick by pressing the hinge in)

Now before I shoot, I connect the adapter with out the lens, then I use focus assist to help me focus onto the gg, Once I have the gg sharp I attach the lens and pull whilst using the oncamera lcd to monitor, this has actually been suprisingly accurate, however I'm sick of having to reapply a pin into the hinge and i'd like a little bit bigger of a screen

so my question is- can I just get a monitor like the varizoom 7" and monitor once i'm sharp on my gg? if the gg is in focus isnt the image i'm seeing accurate?

I know an hd monitor is obviously a better choice, I just need to know if for the time being this will work..

Any answers or comments are appreciated.

Thanks!

you will not be able to get (and continually monitor) that you have accurate focus with any sd 7" lcd monitor

There are many people on this forum who would disagree with that statement.

@Hueyfilms: Do a search for "monitor" in the 35mm Adapters forum and you will get loads of suggestions and opinions. I'm leaning toward the Panasonic BT-LH80 but this is an expensive option.
