Question about LetusEX + EX1

first off, about to buy a used letus adapter with 5 canon fd lenses for 1150 bucks, seemed like an awesome deal so going for it. seem like a good deal to anyone else? just wondering..



anyway, real question.. this adapter I'm buying does not come with the Ex1 optimized achromat. Am I still going to be able to use this with my Ex1 before buying the optimized achromat, or will I still be able to use it, just the image / corner quality won't be as good.

You need the EX1 optimization kit. That will cost you 350 Euros. Otherwise if the lenses are in good shape you have a great deal. However don't forget you will also need support rods and base plate. That can become expensive.
 
You can still use it with the EX1 if you have the correct size ring adaptor, I did with mine until the optimization kit became available, but it is so much better with the optimization kit. $349 US for the optimization kit (275 euros)...
 
Being a 1/3 or 1/2 camera has nothing to do with it... It has to do with the lens diameter. The Z1 has a 72mm diameter lens while the EX1 has a 77mm lens.

Youre best off just biting the bullet and buying the EX1 achromat from Letus.
 
yeah I'm gonna buy the ex1 achromat regardless, just was hoping I'd be able to at least get used to using it and such in the week before it arrives, thanks for the info!
