Check your settings.

But honestly, I've never been a fan of exporting from FCP with either QT Conversion or Compressor. I find it much easier to export a full-rez file, then use Compressor as a standalone to convert. This yields better results, too.

yah .. ok.. thats how i normaly work with premiere...but with FCP i thoguth that its native exporter was good enough. I might have to look into sorrenson or whatever else...
thanks

No need for that.

Compressor 3 does great work provided your settings are correct. In Compressor check your movie resolution size export settings and make sure that it's not configured for a 4:3 type file.

Without knowing what your converting for, h.264 usually yields great results.

However I've been using the x264Encoder codec found on VersionTracker.com with Compressor 3. IMO it's better quality, more settings to tweak, and much faster then the Apple version of the h.264 codec.

If you are bypassing Compressor and just exporting through QT conversion and your aspect ratio is off, you can open the file in QT, go to window>movie properties and select the video track. You can change the aspect ratio manually and then save it.

wel, depends on what your target is ... QT Conversion is great for making small (<50MB) files for the web. select Broadband HI or Medium, use the options to customize your aspect ratio and other features.

yah i just want to make web stuff... i exported a .mov and youtube didnt like it.. i thougth youtube was all over .mov

DJDecay said it right. Pump out your final project without any compression, and then use Compressor (or even QTPro) to spit out your various web sizes.

With regards to your squeezed resolution, however, I would blame it on an incorrect Pixel Aspect Ratio setting.
