I'm a newbie with the world of DV, I have been playing around with different cameras, but never owned my own. This comming spring I will buy my very own DVX100AE  . There Is something that i was wondering about. Is it a good thing to re-use a DV tape? and for how many times? and finaly; what DVtape, brand do you recommend to use with the DVX100?

This has been covered NUMEROUS times in this forum, I know you're a newbie, which is all the more reason you should learn early on to use the search button up at the top. I'm not trying to be mean, but it makes it easier for everyone if you do a thorough search for your topic and post only if you don't find an answer. Happy searching!

agreed. just take time and search and you will find your questions answered already.. surely you know others have been here and asked the same questions...

but if your too lazy to sift thru the threads, smoke this over...

it doesnt matter which tape you use as long as you stick to that original tape model and brand and not swap between brands. you can reuse tapes a couple of times, but this depends on how you have kept them.. if you are sloppy with how you keep tapes (just throw htme in a bag for instance) they WILL find dust particles and hair and this stuff will jam up your heads and make your error correction circuitry work harder.

most everyone will say "oh tapes are so cheap these days just use them once and buy more..." if your purse can handle it then by all means its good practice to use fresh tapes whenever possible... BUT if you keep your tapes in good condition and store them properly you can use them a couple of times if you are in a pinch...

so smoke this over and use the search function and read up on the bagillion threads on this popular subject...

Oh... yeah guess I'm a newbie with this forum also...lol, but thanks! I'll try to use the search more in the future.
