Question about changing f.stop...

So I'm new to DSLRs, the d90 is my first. I have a question -- I basically been using it straight out the box. I have the f.stop on my 50mm 1.8 nikkor lens at f22. Whenever I turn it to another dial such as f16 or f1.8 for example, the viewfinder says "EE".

I guess there's a lot to learn, but any help is appreciated. I just filmed my first stuff today you can see here, did some color correction and what not.

it's normal, just shoot. if you exit live view you have to go back to f/22 before entering live view again. it's all in the "how to" sticky.
