Question about Apeture Control with my Nikon Primes on my AF100...

So i bought the Fotodiox Nikon(G)-M4/3 Mount for my Nikon FD Prime Lenses. Now it works but the apeture on the lens doesnt work?

Now i new the apertaure, autofocus, iris on the camera would not work with this Adapter, but i thought that the aperature on the lens still would? I have a canon 5D adapter for these same lenses and the aperature works when i have it connected? Any ideas as to why?

Do they make adapters for these lenses that would allow for the Lens aperature to work? Also i noticed the OIS is invalid also with this adapter? Am i just stuck with no aperature control or OIS when using one of these adapters? any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I may have this wrong but isn't the Fotodiox simply a "dumb" adapter?
What I mean is that it is simply something that provides a point of attachment to the camera but no electronic functions . . .
My old Nikons work but that of course is because the aperture rings are mechanical, on the lens.

I have a Fotodiox Nikon G to m4/3 mount and it works fine with both my G lenses and AI manual focus lenses with apertures. You need to set the ring on the adaptor to lock and then you should have full aperture control on the lens. There is no transfer of electronics with this mount so no auto focus or OIS

Thanks guys, on my adapter i actually have to set it to Open and then i can move the aperature. Damn...no OIS...
The stabilization will still be better then shooting free hand on the Canon 5D or 7D? will it be less jumpy i mean?

Well, the slightly smaller sensor and the larger weight and better balance of the AF100 will halp it be a little less jumpy than a non-OIS lens on the 5D, but there is still no OIS. Remember, when you are using these adaptors, the lens is just a piece of glass and some manual mechanics... anything camera controlled will not work. If you need those functions, use a m4/3 lens. I am using all nikon glass, and I am keeping my HPX for the few occasions I want large DOF, autofocus, OIS, powerzoom, etc... The AF100 to me is more like a film camera.
