Hi everyone,

I keep searching this forum for info and boy have I gotten info. GREAT place! One thing I am confused on, I keep seeing people say "I recorded 720p 24pn @ 48fps. The thing that has me confused is, If you are recording at 720p=resolution and 24pn=frame rate where does that 48fps come in. I thought if you where recording at 720p 24pn it meant you were recording 720 progressive resolution at 24 frames per second native. What Am I missing here? Thanks guys...

You're missing overcranking and undercranking. 24pN sets the playback rate, but 48fps is the capture rate. So you capture at 48fps, but it plays back at 24fps. That yields 2:1 slow motion.

Ok, so with the HVX you can actually set what the capture rate and playback rate are going to be on a certain clip? Or you set it to capture at 48fps and then in post you put it in a 24pN time line? Or its all ON camera settings? Thanks

All on camera. It'll play back in slow-mo right after you shoot it. It'll import into your NLE as slow-mo. It's all done for you as you shoot.

Oh man... i love my HVX.....

I forgot how much fun it is to go slomo... Ive been shooting so much 1080P for so long i forgot about 60P.
