We just completed our fantasy feature "Quest for the Meaning of Life."

I guess we shouldn't have been surprised, but we are pretty much blown away by this camera. The footage looks pretty amazing, can't believe it's from a minidv cam!!

anyway, we are proud of our footage and have a trailer online (more like a music video) and will be screening the feature in the next couple of weeks. It's an oddball piece for all types.

Trailer and storyline are located here, along with our contact emails. If you have any interest in going to our premiere screening please email and you will be invited.

cheers,
on to the next project....

Re: "Quest for the Meaning of Life"

link doesnt work

but i went around it and watched the trailer. WTF, that looked freaking weird. You had a really nice film look too. Suggestion though, if this is a trailer to a finished feature, you might want to cut it down, its really long considering like any good trailer it give away no plot and such. After a while i was a little bored since it made no sense.

hope to see the full thing though ;D

Man I wont be able to sleep tonight.  That was like some mutant island of dr moreau thing going on (except it was on a farm and brando wasnt running around in pajamas and white makeup).

Im interested.  Scared, but interested.   So, did he do the brunette in the barn?

re: the length, approx. 3-minutes. that is not our actual trailer for the feature. we through that together for the wrap party so the actors could see themselves. we have yet to cut a 'real' trailer.

thanks for the kind words.

Re: "Quest for the Meaning of Life"

No, actually our short films were shot on the Canon XL1s. The music videos were shot on the sony vx2000, except for one which was shot on super16 (Jesic Video).

I think our next purchase is the dvx100a.

We are thinking about shooting a full-length feature on this camera next.

Waiting to see what kind of response we get and what doors will open for us after Quest.

knock wood.

Re: "Quest for the Meaning of Life"

I think MONTE got the point...

I don't have a solid opinion on it yet, but it is more intelligent then it appears... more depth then some would perceive.

I guess this guy is at a stage in his life where he's taking stock of himself by examining those around him... the bus is him stepping off to look around as it were. Then we see the various personality types and where that leads them... like the "dog" that would do anything for a cute girl... even to his own demise.

Hmm, I don't know... but it is very well done and actually very intelligent. I really enjoyed how you shot it.

I guess it just hits a button inside of me... I'm already cynical about people I meet sometimes.

Re: "Quest for the Meaning of Life"

Some nice looking stuff. However I think it's way too long for a trailer. Just a couple of those weird guys would have been enough. I actually forgot it was a trailer and thought I just watched a short film. Make it a quarter the length and it should be good.

Agreed. Some very sexy, rich images. Can't wait to see it. Here's a festival for you to consider entering when you're finished:
