Quality Question.. Vegas Pro and GH2

For my workflow
-I am currently capturing useing PhotoFunStudio that came with the camera,
-then importing the avchd file into Vegas,
-then exporting as a .WMV file for youtube.

The quality is good, but i'm not completely satisfied, when its completed, its not the original quality that i am able to view it as in PhotoFunStudio.
-Is there something that I could do to fix this?
-Is there a better workflow that i could use to get as close to original quality as possible?

Ex of my product with this workflow include.

Lots of folks feel the MP4 high profile give a better viewing experince than WMV. A handy and free extension can be downloaded here: http://vegasaur.com/free-tools made specifically for YouTube optimization. I use the GH1 file importer found somewhere in this forum rather than FunStudio

thanks, i did a test and this made the audio a lot crisper, as well as the blacks more well defined. It's definatly a lot less grainy but the video quality was still the same:(

YouTube knocks down quality no matter what you give it, what I suggested is about as good as it's going to get (on YouTube), it will never duplicate the native footage. It is my understanding that the (paid) version of Vimeo has a secret setting (search Blackout on this forum) that allows for a higer quality view. YouTube bases the way they re-encode to a common denominator, what can the adverage computer play back, not the cutting edge computer. As it is the HD settings cause most computers to "take a break" in the middle of playback. To get pristine quality you're going to have to talk people into downloading big files or rewireing the country with fiber optic lines, I think youtube does a very good job with the existing intrastructure.
