Quality issues in FCE

hey,

I've been using FCE to import footage from my DVX100B. it was all shot at 24p, and when I put it into FCE, I get some interlace-like horizontal lines and some minor aliasing. is there anyway to remedy this? here's a video that wasn't shot by me but has a similar quality issue with lines:

any help is appreciated! thanks!

does it have these lines in fcp or just when put onto vimeo. cuz vimeo causes these lines to alot of peoples footage.

but from what you said it sounds like your saying it has these lines in fcp. so i would first ask, did you remove the pulldown from the footage when capturing to fcp? thats the only thing i can think of that would cause these lines.

FCE doesn't support 24p from what I remember. Not only that, but it transcodes EVERYTHING dropped into it's timeline into lossy Apple Intermediate Codec. So you lose quality just putting anything on the timeline.

I'd never recommend that program to anyone.

ok, so I got FCP. how will I remove the pulldown from my footage? or is that unnecessary in FCP?

look in the, i believe its the sequence tab at top of fcp. and click remove pulldown. it might be in one of the other tabs on either side of the sequence tab. im not at my apple computer right now to look so you just will need to look for the remove pulldown and click it.

but for now on you need to set your fcp to remove the pulldown when you are capturing the footage.
