GH2 Quai 33 / Movie-play trailer

Here's a trailer of my first fiction work (a live play with movie sequences) done with our beloved cam who survived the worst shooting conditions you can think of!

We finally found a colorist ; final results (skin tones, highlights, etc.) will be better than my poor attempt, I think.

Edit : Prequel

I already commented on the Vimeo a while back, but I think this looks fantastic.
You really know what you're doing and have a unique style. Can't wait for more.

Beautiful work! Always good to reaffirm one's faith in this powerful camera! Looking forward to seeing more...

Looking nice, but I find it very cheap that you just reused the funeral march from Tree of Life in a trailer for your own movie. And that is for two reasons: 1. It doesn't really fit what's going on in the images very well. 2. Along with the camera work it comes of looking like a Tree of Life copy. I don't think the movie itself is a copy but the trailer makes it look like it.

Well, all this is true but : It's not my movie (nor a movie) but a play directed by someone else, I'm just shooting the movie sequence. Music is not my responsability (althrough this one doesn't come up during the play) neither the super shallow depth of field used sometimes. Asked to me, even if I tend to hate that more and more...
- The story is in no way related to Tree of Life, but... I'm just a super noob, so if someone can at least see my work like 0,000000001% related to anything directed by Malick (even camera test by him in his backyard) well... it's a shame for him, but I'm very pleased to ear that. So I understand the critic... but thanks for it anyway. Like any form of art, the copy (or inspiration) is the normal way to learn anything. =)

After the small success of the play we're shooting a prequel of it. I edited the first post to show my first attempt of editing one of the sequences. I'm just in charge of shooting the video sequences - someone better than me will do the final edit/grading/mixing. Enjoy, I hope.

I've been watching your videos on Vimeo Channel for almost a year and I am amazed of your style the framing and simplicity in editing. The choise of the soundtrack suits both the atmosphere and mood of the images.
Time to time I am looking for a new video of yours posted. Your are an inspiration to me! Greetings from Greece.
Please keep shooting . . .
