QT Ref settings.

Hi, I use Avid Xpress Pro 5.2.3. I´m new at this, so can someone be so kind to explain the QT Ref exporting settings?
Why is it that when I use the Avid Dv codec option I get better results than having the box uncheked in the exporting settings? Isn´t QTRef supposed to be "just reference", NO compression??

What are you using your ref files for?

I use them to make the files (on Procoder) for DVD authoring.

I'm not familiar with that piece of software. To be honest, I'm totally clear on what the Avid DV Codec option does. It might have something to do with Avid rendering various effects that are applied to your video. Otherwise, it should just reference the media files.
