OTHER: PXW Z450 peaking question

Hey all, I’m here with another shooter who has this camera. He says he’s not happy with the peaking. He has the dial full on the Evf but it’s not strong. When I go into the menu, the part where you can set the peaking intensity is greyed out. My first thought is that maybe it’s due to him not having the best Evf on there. Has anyone experienced this? @Doug Jensen ?

There are no peaking or zebra controls onboard the camera itself. Those settings are controlled by the viewfinder menus and knobs. Which viewfinder does he have?

I went in there and it does have the option for the frequency and color. But the slider for the intensity on the bottom is grey. I’m not sure the model of the viewfinder, but it’s the boxy older ones without the integrated flip up screen (maybe the CBK-VF02)?

Sorry, I don't know that old viewfinder. But the slider for intensity is probably grayed out because intensity might be controlled by the knob on the front of the viewfinder. Did you try that?

If he had an HDVF-EL30 or EL20 I could tell you exactly what settings to use. There's a whole chapter in my Z750/Z450 book dedicated just to those viewfinders. But I don't know what capabilities or menu choices included on the one he owns. Sorry.

Thank you. He was a freelancer from Argentina and I wanted to help him out before he had to return. Unfortunately it seems that’s all it could do. He had the knob to 100% but it was still pretty weak. It was probably just the viewfinder since I’ve used the new ones on the 750 and you can dial in the peaking much easier.
