PXW-X70: Audio

What do folks think of the audio on this camera?

I just tried a very crude test of the camera, recording a quiet stream with an external mic outdoors, compared to the Roland R-26. It seemed good to my cloth ears, and certainly had less noise (no audible noise, really) compared to certain other sound recorders.

I'm surprised, though, that more people haven't commented on the stereo channels being reversed! This seems like a huge screwup by Sony... ? I mean, do they even test this stuff?

Ah, thanks for the heads up! Sony don't really make it easy to find, but the update to version 1.02 is available here:

This does indeed fix the audio channel swapping, and.... who knows what else, Sony haven't included a change list.

(My camera, which just arrived a couple of weeks ago, was on 1.00.)
